100 years ago, three ambitious Texans, F.M. Swearingen, B.L. Naylor, and A.H. Jones unveiled the distinguished and luxurious St. Anthony Hotel. The showpiece of the hotel’s unveiling was The Anacacho Ballroom-modern in detail with ingenious innovations such as lighted stage and spacious balcony all constructed on American and European plans. 30 years after the Hotel’s opening, the Anacacho Ballroom first opened for dining during Fiesta week in 1941 and it also became the official setting of the First Live Broadcast in San Antonio called “Friday Nights at the Anacacho”
Today, the Anacacho Ballroom is the setting of choice for business meetings, wedding receptions, quinceanera celebrations and social gatherings while maintaining an elegant yet modern look and feel.
