Director of Convention Services

A Texas Native, Rebekah Avarez holds a Master’s degree in Communications from S. Mary’s University along with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Management from Our Lady of the Lake University. She began her hospitality career 10 years ago with Starwood Hotels as part of the Opening team for Westin La Cantera in 1999.

In her role of Sales and Marketing Assistant for the Westin La Cantera, Rebekah developed several marketing and public relations campaigns that helped position Westin La Cantera as one of the preferred resort destinations in San Antonio.

In addition to her contributions with the opening of Westin La Cantera, Rebekah was responsible for the internal public relations of the hotel and the promotion of three different restaurants in the property. Her educational background has allowed her to provide valuable expertise in the areas of television and radio advertisement.

She began her journey at the St. Anthony in 2005 as Convention Services Manager. She was quickly promoted to Director of Convention Services. She is responsible for the impeccable execution of all the conventions and meetings at the St. Anthony. Her dedication, attention to detail and genuine concern have positioned her as a recognized professional in San Antonio’s hospitality community.
