This room is named after the Parisian artist, painter and weaver, Lional Peraux, who crafted the stunning Tapestry that now decorates the room. Since it’s opening in 1941 the historic Peraux Room has played host to royalty and presidents and to celebrities from the worlds of music and film. Eleanor Roosevelt visited it, as did President Eisenhower, General Douglas MacArthur and Princess Grace of Monaco. As a guest in the St. Anthony, one may have encountered one of the Rockefellers, Will Rogers or Leopold Stokowski in the hotel’s lobby.
